Is this feature currently available in current version? When I drag the 3 selected clips into the timeline, they will be ordered 2, 1, 3. This is a great time saver when dealing with a lot of video clips and or stills.Įxample: I have 3 clips (1, 2, 3). (hint: my forum user name!)Īgree w/Brad, Premier also remembers the order of which a collection of clips are selected and they are inserted into the timeline in corresponding order. Just switching to Resolve for my editing. Resolve doesn't do that, unless there's a setting or option somewhere that I'm missing. Final Cut remembers the order in which you selected those clips and adds them to the timeline in that order. I agree with you and your proposal is a very good idea, but tell me: is there any case scenario where importing clips from the explorer in an absolutely random order is good for the user? Having just "one" certain order (like the one you said), no matter what you do later, is better for the user, IMHO.īrad Hurley wrote. There are some improvements I'd like to see, though - for example if you select multiple clips at once in Final Cut and add them to the timeline, Final Cut remembers the order in which you selected those clips and adds them to the timeline in that order. Normally you'd organize all your footage in bins, and within those bins you might sort by keyword rather than chronologically, for example. In many narrative films and even documentaries, scenes are shot out of order and clips from different days (or even years) might be placed next to each other in the timeline.
